Selfportrait _ video-installation _ 1999 _ 1'20'' looped (3hours tape)

When I was asked to make a work for a group-exhibition entitled 'Selfportrait of 1999', I was very concerned about the fact, that I really did'nt have any idea how to describe myself.

After days of meditating on a good selfdescription I came to the conclusion, that the only thing that comes to my mind clearly, when thinking about myself, is the face I see everyday in the bathroom-mirror.

The video is a result of compositing. The fact, that my eyes are glued to the razor while shaving, gave the trigger to stabilize the razor part of the image.
